France

Thursday August 8th

Just passing through France this time, so please forgive me for not sharing photographs of Paris or other parts of this beautiful country.

The flight from Azerbaijan brought me directly to Charles de Gaulle Airport, within which is located a TGV station — France’s high speed train service. The TGV would then bring me to Lille, France, a 20-minute drive to my friends’ home in Belgium.

I stopped in Paris only long enough for lunch with a friend, though, as it was my wish to see friends in each country that I visited and France was no exception. Patricia, a former colleague from EMC Corporation, offered a few options for lunch and we settled on Ladurèe.

Ladurèe is most known for its macarons, but I should tell you that its main dishes and wines were wonderful as well. Thank you, Patricia, for such an enjoyable experience!
